Black Support for President Trump Doubles
One of the most predictable positive consequences that have arisen from President Trump’s historic economic growth is an increase in support among groups that have become fed-up and disillusioned with the economic stagnation caused by the Democrat’s anti-business policies. During Barack Obama’s eight years in office, he averaged a paltry 1.6 percent GDP growth rate, the worst growth rate of any president since World War II.
President Trump, on the other hand, has overseen GDP growth of 4.1 percent in the second quarter of 2018 alone, one of the highest growth rates in American history. His economic record is even more impressive given the seven recent interest rate hikes by the fed. Is it any wonder that African Americans are quickly changing their opinion about our president?
Rasmussen’s August tracking poll showed a huge year-of-year jump in President Trump’s approval rating among African-Americans. Shortly after the president took office, his August 2017 poll numbers showed a support level of just 15% among black voters. His August 2018 numbers show a stunning 29% approval rating among black voters, nearly a 200% increase in just one year!
Pastor Darrell C. Scott, co-founder of the New Spirit Revival Center in Cleveland Heights, Ohio, told the Daily Wire that, “this is probably the most pro-active administration regarding urban America and faith-based community in my lifetime.” He added, “This is probably going to be…the most pro-black president we’ve had in our lifetime.”
It’s no wonder why Democrats are trying to stifle and sabotage President Trump at every turn. A similar increase over the next two years would send Democrats in apocalyptic fits!
A loss of their crucial black voting base would make taking back the Senate and the White House an impossible mission well into the future. This explains why Democratic leadership and their media allies are trying so hard to drum up a fake scandal after fake scandal: President Trump’s economic results are enough to ensure Republican control of the White House and Congress for the next six years, minimum.
It’s important to remember why black opinion about President Trump is changing so quickly. The December 2017 tax cut has performed exactly as promised: it has jumpstarted the US economy, allowing us to close the economic gap with China and to bring unprecedented prosperity to the American people. American corporations are now competitive with their international opponents, and a reduction in domestic taxation has truly unleashed the American economic juggernaut.
President Trump has also withdrawn the United States from the exploitive Pacific Trade Partnership and his threats to withdraw from NAFTA have already brought the Mexican and Canadian governments to their knees and to the negotiating table. With Treasury Secretary Steve Mnuchin forecasting “sustained 3 percent growth over the next four or five years,” it seems certain that the Trump economic miracle is only just beginning.
